David McNeil Tae Kwon-Do Schools is an official member of the UKTC
(United Kingdom Tae Kwon-Do Centres). Started in 1995 the school has classes across Central Scotland and offers ITF style training to adults and children from the age of 5. Find out more about us here.

Changes to Class Schedule
There are a few changes to the class timetable with both the Lenzie & Sunday Bearsden classes being cancelled for the foreseeable future. This is due to a decline in attendance. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Grading Announced

Cupar YMCA
The Cupar Class is cancelled this week only (Saturday 26th November) due to the hall being used for a Christmas Fair. Appologies for any inconvienience this may cause.
Students wishing to make up this class are invited to attend any of our other classes. For information on class times and venues see the classes page.

Christmas Holidays
All classes will finish the week ending 18th December for the Christmas break and will restart in the new year on Monday the 9th January 2012.
Equipment Orders
Anyone wishing to place a Christmas order for equipment should do so by the 5th December. Orders should be payed for when placed.

Open to all students who hold the rank of Black Tags (1st kup) up to 7th Degree Black Belt. Students participating will be assessed during the seminar and advised regarding their readiness for future Black Belt gradings. Enrollment can be made on day - all welcome. The new training cards/attendance cards for all UKTC Black Belts & Black Tags are available for collection at the Black Belt Training Session. Students wishing to apply for permission to test for promotion will be required to submit their completed cards showing the requisite number of classes and courses attended.
Black Belt Grading : Pre-Test - Saturday 3rd December 2011
The next Black Belt Grading Pre-Test Course with Senior Master Harkess will be held on Saturday 3rd December 2011, from 10am-1pm, at Liberton High School, Gilmerton Road, Edinburgh. The cost for the Pre-Test Grading is £30.
All students who wish to apply to Grade for their Black Belt in December with Senior Master Harkess must attend this Pre-Test. Permission to Grade in December 2011 will only be given to students who demonstrate the necessary level of expertise to complete the Black Belt Grading. Details can be found at www.masterharkess.com

Summer Holiday
All classes are now on holiday for our summer break. Classes will resume on Monday 1st August, except the Cupar YMCA class which starts back on Saturday 20th August.

UKTC Squad Training Update
The next training date for the UKTC squad is Sunday 15th May at Liberton High School, Gilmerton Rd, Edinburgh, EH17 7PT, 3-6pm.

Easter Holiday
All classes due to take place on Easter Sunday (24th April) will be on holiday. This is the only holiday planned at the moment. Classes will run as normal during the following bank holiday weekend (Royal Wedding Day & May Day Bank Holiday).

Sunday 10th April - Shotts Leisure Centre, Benhar Road Shotts, 3-6pm.
The Coaches will be moving the location of Squad Training for future sessions. Dates are Sunday 15th May & Sunday 29th May. Venues for these date will be available soon.

Congratulations to the Scottish-ITF Squad which too part in the European and IMG Championships in Tallinn, Estonia. A number of UKTC students took part and came away with medals. There was a total haul of 22 medals:
Europeans: 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 6 Bronze
IMG: 5 Silver and 7 Bronze
Well done to everyone involved and to the coaches Master Derek Campbell & Mr Peter McAnna.
